People: Britney on her ‘Empowering’ 24th Fragrance — and her secret to tuning out haters

And here’s another interview to promote Prerogative, this time for PEOPLE.

Britney Spears has been creating fragrances since 2004, but for the pop star, each launch is about so much more than the opportunity to release a unique scent. From Curious to Believe to Radiance — her perfumes also bear a personal message. And her latest, Prerogative, is no exception. Comprised of bold notes of pink pepper, espresso foam and amberwood, Spears tells PeopleStyle that she’s making a statement about scent — and confidence.

“The fragrance is really good, but the name is very cool because it’s empowering. It’s [about saying], ‘I’m going to what I want to do and be happy in that moment and not worry about what people think.’” Spears, 36, shared exclusively.

It’s an attitude Spears hopes both the men and women who buy her very first gender-neutral scent will embrace.

“It’s [about] saying, ‘This is what I’m going to do without — any judgments.’”

Having lived her majority of her life in the public eye — and now on social media also, the pop icon knows a thing or two about shaking off haters, revealing that self-assurance is her secret weapon.

“Today, with the way things are, everybody can become famous in their own right on social media. And you kind of have control over it — but there are a lot of comments. I used to have an ex-boyfriend who would look [at the comments] and not one time would I ever look at the comments. I didn’t give two crapalonies what anybody said!”

Adds Spears, “You don’t need to read that, you know what I mean? And I think there’s haters wherever you go, and everybody is entitled to their opinion, but at the end of the day, you have to believe in yourself.”

To encourage the same fearlessness in others, Spears is launching the scent with a provocative new campaign.

And while Spears looks stunning in front of the camera, she says she feels the absolute most beautiful when there are no lights, cameras or action around her.

“You know, when someone suggests that you look pretty, you feel like after that you have project that even more. So, I feel the prettiest when I am alone, I have no makeup on and I have a book in my hand.”

Britney Spears Prerogative (which includes a 1, 1.7 and 3.3 oz EdP, as well as a 8 oz body mist) will be available at Walmart stores and on walmart.com in July, and at Kohl’s stores and on kohls.com in August.

Britney talks to Allure about the inspiration behind her latest perfume, Prerogative

Here’s a new interview with Allure, promoting her new perfume “Prerogative”.

Simply put: Britney Spears stays winning. Do I even bother going down her list of accomplishments? It doesn’t even matter. Britney is playing in a league all her own. The definition of a living legend, the blueprint of a pop star, a thriving mogul, an unproblematic queen.
Accolades aside, the thing that makes Ms. Spears a true winner is that she doesn’t give a fuck about your opinions. She never has. Why would she? She’s Britney, bitch. She’s living her best life in Vegas, dude. She’s on her third residency (and you’ll remember, she was the first contemporary pop star to have a permanent show in the desert. She earned the right to have her fans come to her. And they do, in droves.) She’s living away from the glare of the lens, spending time with her family, and doing what she loves, on her time, on her terms.

New interview with ET!

Earlier today, Entertainment Tonight aired a new interview with Britney to promote the tour. She didn’t say much tbh, but it looks like she will add new songs to the setlist (My bets are that she’s not taking the guitar on tour so I Love Rock N’ Roll will be removed and she’ll need a new song to replace it) and also, she mentions new remixes.

The tour kicks off next week so we will have to wait and see…

Britney confirms she’s working on a new album!

People keeps posting excerpts from her interview with Britney and today they published one in which Britney confirms that she’s currently working on her next studio album! She doesn’t give any details but at least we know that B10 is coming!

Here’s the full interview.

Britney Spears Gets Hangry Just Like Everyone Else: ‘I Want a Hamburger and I Want It Now!’

Same Britney, same.

She’s one of the biggest pop stars in the world, but Britney Spears gets hangry just like the rest of us.

“It’s tricky because sometimes my appetite is through the roof and I will just inhale a club sandwich or some fries,” the 36-year-old singer — who’s taking her Piece of Me tour to the East coast and Europe starting in July — tells PEOPLE exclusively about balancing a healthy diet. “Then sometimes I’m just very cold and I don’t want to eat anything. It’s really, really weird how back-and-forth I am.”

When Spears does get a craving though? Watch out.

“When I’m hungry, it’s like ‘Don’t talk to me.’ I am the devil. I am so moody. I’m a bitch,” jokes the entertainer, whose famous face will be featured on limited-edition cans of soda this summer as part of the Pepsi Generations campaign. “I want a hamburger and I want it now! I love food so much.”

And though she loves to share fun (and steamy!) workout videos with her fans on social media, the star says she keeps her exercise routines pretty simple.

“I don’t work out that much to be totally honest with you,” says Spears. “I like to dance and I like yoga. I found a really good teacher. I think yoga is about finding the right teacher, so I can really get into that.”

Aside from gearing up for her tour, Spears is also currently in the recording studio working on her upcoming album but staying mum on the details.

Says the star: “It’s a big secret!”

Britney Reflects on Her Iconic ‘Now and Then’ Pepsi Commercial 16 Years Later

Lately, Britney has been promoting her new “deal” with Pepsi (she appears on selective Pepsi cans and bottles and Pepsi is the sponsor of Piece Of Me summer tour) and here’s arecent interview with People.

Britney Spears will forever be a part of the Pepsi family.

The 36-year-old superstar starred in her first commercial for the beverage company in 2001 — and now 17 years later an iconic shot of the singer will appear on retro limited-edition cans this summer as part of the Pepsi Generations Summer campaign.

“That was like 15 years ago. Goodness!” reflects Spears about her long relationship with Pepsi in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE. “I’m like, ‘Wait a second!’”

Some of her favorite memories collaborating with the company were formed on set of her epic 2002 “Now and Then” Pepsi commercial, for which the entertainer recreated iconic Pepsi ads throughout the decades during a days-long shoot.

“We had a couple of different set-ups, and we had one where I was Robert Palmer. We did a remake of ‘Simply Irresistible,’ and I had to go through hair and makeup,” says the star, who is bringing her “Piece of Me” tour to the East Coast and Europe in July and August. “It took forever because they were turning me into a man!”

Looking back, however, Spears remembers they made her hair “too big” and she ended up looking “like a girl with a beard,” she jokes. “I was like, ‘I look nothing like him and we spent like four hours on hair and makeup.”

She also has fond memories of spending time with her younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears, now 27, who was a tween at the time and made a cameo in the commercial.

“She was on set with me and we were all out in this field. It was so hot, and we all had to be like hippies and kind of swing our bodies around,” says Spears.

Spears’s favorite scene from the commercial, though, is the “traditionally classic” one in which she shows off her dance moves in front of a drive-in while baring her infamous abs in a crop top and low-rise bottoms.

“It was in a sound studio, and it was really tight,” she says. “At the time [with] my belly showing, it was very, very cool. It’s probably one of my most proud pieces of work.”

Britney says Her Stage Persona is ‘Healthy’ Way to Combat Shyness

Here’s a recent interview with Britney published by Billboard.

If you thought the workout videos Britney Spears recently posted on social media looked grueling, the pop superstar confirms that they were — even if she and her trainer boyfriend made it look easy. Spears and Sam Asghari went through intricate movements, including Asghari lifting Spears several times and Spears doing a headstand — and it seemed effortless. But in reality, Spears says he put her through it.

“He’s a trainer so everything has to be so perfect. We probably did 40 (takes) and I hurt myself,” she joked in an interview with The Associated Press. “It looked great, he did a good job and he edited it really, really well.”

She said she’ll often tap her oldest son, Sean Preston, to shoot her videos and photos for social media and those are usually in one take.

“With (Sam), I did it a million times and I swear it was horrible, but when I do it just with my kids it’s really fast,” she said.

Spears said she prefers challenging workouts because she has “always been an active person” and gets bored easily. She plans to ramp up those exercises in the coming weeks as she prepares to return to touring with the “Piece of Me” tour, sponsored by Pepsi. She’ll also be one of the superstars included in the Pepsi Generations summer campaign where the company will reissue retro cans featuring acts that have participated in earlier campaigns, including Michael Jackson and Ray Charles.

Spears’ tour takes her Las Vegas residency on the road and will be the last opportunity for fans to see that show. She’ll perform dates across North America and Europe. It kicks off July 12 in Washington, D.C. The singer said she looks forward to getting back onstage because it helps bring her out of her shell.

“I’m very sensitive and sometimes I just want to run away because I’m a very shy person,” she said in a phone interview Wednesday (May 9). “I think energy is contagious and when I get onstage with the dancers, we all kind of vibe off each other. We feel the same energy and we connect.”

Watching Spears perform, it may be difficult to imagine that she may not be outgoing, but she said she has a stage persona that takes over in front of an audience. “I think it’s healthy to be able to put on the persona of being confident,” said Spears, who also said she’s on a kick of reading self-help books.

“I think it’s an escape because honestly with how shy I really am, I don’t think it’s healthy,” she said. Performing is “a boost to my confidence. It’s like an alter-ego type thing. Something clicks and I go and turn into this different person. I think it’s kind of a gift to be able to do that.”

On why she prefers to work with younger artists and when will she release new music: “I don’t know,” but added that she “would especially like to write for others. There are amazing artists nowadays and I would like to work with the young generation. They are the ones who want to experiment. The older ones are more jaded… they don’t always put their heart into what they do. Working with young people… you see them shine and open themselves [up]. It’s a lot more interesting.”

On the matching denim outfits she and Justin Timberlake wore at the AMAs: “It was my idea. I love denim and corsets so that’s what I asked my stylist [to create]. As a joke, we gave Justin a jean jacket and honestly we thought he would never wear it., but he did and it went down in history. Beyond the fact that we were matching, I think it’s because it was different. I was also wearing a lot of diamonds and I think that the casual side of jeans along with a lot of jewelry made the whole outfit very cool.”

Vogue Interview: Britney talks about her new campaign for Kenzo and how she defines mom fashion

Britney Spears has one not-so-fond memory of the 1980s. “I used to wear big bows on top of my head,” she says on the eve of the debut of her first luxury fashion campaign (it’s hard to believe there’s something she hasn’t done). “I mean, ugly was the way to go in the ’80s, it was all just completely obnoxious—but there was also something so refreshing about that and the fact that we didn’t care what anyone thought about our clothes.” When Spears was approached by Kenzo’s creative directors, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, about becoming the face of the label’s second nostalgia-based La Collection Momento for Spring 2018 (a tribute to the debut of Kenzo Jeans in 1986), she was excited by the prospect of bringing back that loud, no-holds-barred, ’80s attitude.

The bright campaign was shot on location in Los Angeles by Peter Lindbergh and features pieces like a cropped denim jacket, thigh-high lace-up boots, and a sweatshirt and baseball hat stamped with a throwback version of the original Kenzo logo. “This collection is very youthful,” says Spears. “We had fun on set, even though it was a bit weird for me at first. I am used to shooting in a studio or a small space, and this was on the street. We were out there and I had really promiscuous clothes on, which felt odd, but, of course, on film it turned out to be really cool.”

Let us not forget that Spears is a 36-year-old working mom of two. The days of schoolgirl miniskirts and red vinyl catsuits are far behind her, and she tends to gravitate toward more practical, bohemian-inspired clothing, mostly in a palette of soft ivory and white. “It’s tricky because as a mother, you don’t take as much risk with your style,” she says. “I think when I was younger I took so many risks and really went for it. There was no planning what I wore, and it was like, okay, I am just going to put on the most outrageous thing. I think as a mother you hold back from that out of fear of embarrassing your kids and out of respect for them.”

When Spears is home with her boys, Sean and Jayden, she is “in a nightgown most of the time.” And while she may not be wearing things like meat dresses or thongs on the red carpet, she does say that “there is something very courageous about the younger generation just wearing whatever they want all the time, but I don’t know if I could do it at this point. I think I would go and hide under a rug or something, because I’ve been dressing a certain way the past 15 years and I wouldn’t know how to react to a big change.”

Luckily the Kenzo campaign has given Spears a new outlook on embracing more playfulness in her current wardrobe. And playfulness, after all, is something that comes naturally to her—just watch one of her incredible Instagram videos featuring her own idiosyncratic version of a runway walk. The giant hair bows might be long gone, but Spears is not afraid to step out of her comfort zone and get experimental. And her sons sometimes give her the confidence she needs to mix things up. Watching them wear things that clash or have wild prints, she says, is “intoxicating because you are like, You know what? I’m not going to care what I wear today.” She adds, “As a mother, I used to be very strict about what they wore, but, at this point, they are growing up and becoming their own people. I want them to do their own thing—I respect that.”

New interview with PEOPLE Magazine: Britney talks about her kids, her new perfume and more

PEOPLE Magazine posted a new interview of Britney talking about being a single mother, her 22nd fragrance, those Instagram Fashion Shows and more! The interview was posted in two parts on the official People’s website. We’ll see if there’s a third part.

My scents are special to me because…“I love the idea helping people feel sexy, strong and confident, and I think my fragrances show that. Each of my fragrances represents a different side of my personality and my passions.”

If I have an hour to myself, I…“Take a relaxing bath or a yoga class, if I am not spending time with my boys. I need to have a little bit of “me” time, and a break from all the hectic activity helps keep me grounded.”

The inspiration behind my Instagram fashion shows is…“That I just love playing dress up with clothes, and decided one day to have some fun putting on a fashion show with some of the dresses that I had just bought. I love doing these videos so much that now I can’t stop! I do practice my walk!”

The biggest lesson I have learned about myself is…“That I love making music and performing, and it’s easy to get so busy with that stuff that I forget to stop and take a moment to just enjoy and appreciate everything. I’ve learned I need to make an effort to do that more often because my boys are growing up so fast and I want to remember every second of it!”

Britney talking about Preston and Jayden:  “My kids come first, always. There is nothing more rewarding than being a momand watching my sons grow into young men. I am so lucky that I get to experience all of life’s adventures with them.

The balance between work and my personal life can be a challenge. I always do my best to plan my schedule around my family whenever possible. I love watching them play sports and just running around with them. We have a lot of fun together. We love having a beach day together.

I have always taught them that beauty comes from within.”
